We had another easy drive in good conditions today. We stopped at the Balranald Discovery Centre Café for coffee, a place that we have visited on several occasions in the past. Our lunch stop was at a beautiful free camp, on the Murrumbidgee River called Sandy Point. Once again this is a favourite of ours. We arrived at Narrandera soon after 3pm and quickly set up. The caravan park is located on the banks of Lake Talbot which is a backwater of the Murrumbidgee River and is very picturesque. Adjacent to the park is a newly built sky walk which projects out over the lake. We decide to walk out on this and enjoy the peacefulness of the river and lake. While there, we met a lovely couple from Melbourne and spent time chatting to them. Returning to the van, we went for a drive back into the main part of the town. We had an enjoyable stroll along the main street (well I did) admiring the beautiful old buildings and reading the many history information boards, either describing the buildings you were looking at or the general history of the town.
