After arriving back from our Kimberley trip on Wednesday afternoon, we were pretty happy that we were be packed and organised to go by today. We left Adelaide around 8:30am and had an uneventful trip, travelling to Mildura. We made the obligatory stop at the Truro bakery for coffee and a sausage roll of course before arriving in Mildura around 2pm. We drove across the Murray and into NSW because we were hoping to stay at the Buronga Caravan Park. We had stayed at this beautiful park located on the banks of the river on several previous occasions but since the devastating floods in 2022 the park has been closed. Even last year, it was still closed. We found out today that the park reopened in December, last year after a $4 million transformation. Two new pools have been built, many new cabins, refurbished camp-kitchens and amenities etc. I thought that with all this new work the cost of a powered site here would have been more expensive than our previous stays, but we were pleasantly surprised when we were only charged $27 for the night. The park has been extended and was close to full as far as the caravan sites go.
