We were up early and packing up ready to move on as far north as we could to escape the rain. Light showers had started to fall as we finished packing up but we were ready to leave soon after 8am. Pat was flying back to Adelaide this morning so we dropped her off at the Coffs Harbour airport, probably a little earlier than needed but it didn’t worry her. (She probably had the terminal to herself!) The rain stayed with us for a while and it was raining when we stopped for coffee at Ballina. Continuing, the traffic was a bit hectic travelling through the Gold Coast and the outskirts of Brisbane but we made very good time, stopping at Fernvale for lunch before arriving at Yarraman around 4.30pm. This little town is inland from the Sunshine Coast and has a lot to offer. There are many interesting drives, walks and trails nearby and the small town has produced a fabulous little booklet of all the nearby attractions. It certainly could be an interesting place to return to in the future, may be on our return home. The settlement was established in the 1890’s and it is a centre for grazing and cropping and centred among rolling hills.
