All worked well and it was actually a good thing that we spent the night at the Big 4 Coffs Harbour as it was a very good park with beautiful manicured sites and a fabulous café on site as well as excellent other amenities, like pools, camp kitchens (indoors) and an excellent lounge area where movies were being played on a huge TV plus a large games room. The park was in a quiet spot a few kilometres from the busy centre of Coffs Harbour and only about 200mt from the surf beach so we think we will try this park on another visit. We had plenty of time before leaving Coffs Harbour as the drive to the Sawtell park would only take 20 minutes. We left the caravan park and drove 300mt down the road to the Coffs Harbour Surf Lifesaving Club. We decided to go for an invigorating walk along the beach, before calling in at the surf club. for coffee. Of course the view was wonderful from the café and I was in my element as there were many photos covering the history of the club, back from the early 1920’s. Following this we drove to Sawtell checked in, set up and had a bit to eat for lunch. After lunch it was time to pick up our friend Pat, from the Coffs Harbour Airport. That exercise went off without a hitch and she was soon checked in and settled into her cabin. We went for a short drive around Sawtell and visited the Boambee Headland lookout which gave us panoramic views all over the area. In the evening, we enjoyed a take-a-way dinner of fish and chips from the local shop in the village. We dinner in Pat’s lovely cabin and watched some footy and a new detective program on ABC.
