Friday 5th September, A Lovely, Lazy Day
We
spent today enjoying the beautiful weather and relaxing around the park. Rob
had tried to play golf in Emerald but unfortunately despite Rob being available
on both Thursday and Friday, there was something on at the Emerald golf club
and they were only able to offer him afternoon slots or a 6am slot and he would
have been only able to play 9 holes. He decided it really wasn’t worth the drive
into Emerald for 9 holes of golf. I enjoyed reading my book and Rob and Steve,
worked on small jobs. After lunch, Lyn went for a walk, the boys went for a
drive to a couple of nearby lookouts, and I decide to venture down to the pool
with the thought of having a swim. I took my book down and read for a while.
Some young boys were playing “Marco Polo” in the pool and their father told
them to stop in case I wanted to have a dip. He did say it was pretty cold. I
put one toe in the pool and decided that I was quite happy to sit and read my
book pool-side so the boys could keep playing their game. They played for a little
while longer before leaving. Another young family came to the pool and the 2
children ventured into the pool but their father decided it was too cold for him.
Oh, to be young! We had a beautiful evening meal with Lyn and Steve at the Black
Duck Bar/Restaurant which is part of the caravan park resort. It had a lovely
outside deck, over-looking the lake.
