We can report that the wedding and reception went off without a hitch last night and although earlier in the night you could hear the speeches being made when outside, we were not disturbed at all during the night, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Biloela and even though we had visited here before we will probably return. The small town has a very friendly feel and has become quite famous due to the Australian Story on ABC I-view, Back to Bilo which tells the story of a Sri Laken family’s fight to stay in Australia and how the people of small town of Biloela rallied around them to assist in their efforts.

We had a reasonable drive of about 3 hours, stopping at the
town of Monto to ensure that “google” was not going to take us on
a steep road that was “not suitable for caravans”. Rob and I were very conscious
of this as last year we had encountered this problem. Anyway, the good news was
the road we travelled on today was pretty good and even better than last year,
as the road had been totally sealed in April this year. Lyn and Steve are
spending tonight at Gin Gin so we left them there to set up and continued to
Lake Monduran, another amazing dam/lake built in the early 1970’s. We have not
been here before and are very impressed with the park and the nearby lake. Unlike
Lake Maraboon, where the water was cloudy and brown, the water here appears to
be crystal clear. Lyn and Steve drove over to the lake after lunch and we went
exploring around the nearby area with them, walking across the dam wall and also
climbing up to a lookout for a good view. Apparently, this is the place to come
to catch Barramundi. The office had an amazing photo board full of impressive
photos of Barra, caught in the dam. Later in the day, Rob and I drove to the two
nearby boat ramps. At the smaller boat ramp, there were 12 cars and trailers
and at the larger ramp there were over 30! Clearly a very popular place!
